CFO Vertical has partnered with a rapidly growing real estate investment and asset management organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and strong internal controls. This role will work closely with accounting leadership and have visibility into key business decisions and growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial results and investigate account variances.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities.
- Assist with property and investment accounting activities, including acquisitions, dispositions, and capital projects.
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audits and tax preparation.
- Review and improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
- Support system enhancements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, asset management, and executive leadership teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA-track preferred.
- Public accounting experience highly desirable.
- Experience within real estate, property management, private equity, construction, or related industries preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software implementations is a plus.
- Familiarity with investment, fund, or property accounting concepts is beneficial.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
