THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client is seeking an Interim Accounting Consultant to support the Revenue Accounting team during a temporary leave coverage period. This engagement is expected to begin around early July and run for approximately eight weeks, with a focus on supporting revenue accounting operations while helping identify and implement AI-enabled improvements within the order-to-cash process.
This role is well suited for a revenue accounting professional who understands OTC workflows, can partner with accounting and systems stakeholders, and has hands-on experience using technology, automation, or AI tools to improve accounting processes. The ideal consultant will bring strong revenue accounting experience, systems fluency, and the ability to quickly assess current workflows and deliver practical enhancements in a short-term consulting environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support day-to-day revenue accounting activities during a temporary team coverage period.
- Assist with order-to-cash accounting processes, including revenue-related reporting, reconciliations, and process support.
- Partner with Revenue Accounting leadership to identify opportunities to use AI, automation, or analytics to improve workflows.
- Help design, test, and implement practical AI-enabled capabilities that improve efficiency, accuracy, or visibility within the revenue accounting function.
- Analyze current OTC processes and recommend improvements related to reporting, exception tracking, reconciliations, or transaction review.
- Work with systems and data stakeholders to support reporting and analysis using ERP, BI, or data tools.
- Build or enhance reports, dashboards, or data outputs to support revenue accounting insights and process monitoring.
- Support month-end close activities related to revenue accounting as needed.
- Document process improvements, automation logic, and recommended workflows for ongoing team use.
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure improvements are practical, accurate, and sustainable.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with direct exposure to revenue accounting or order-to-cash processes.
- Proven experience implementing or using AI, automation, analytics, or technology-enabled solutions to improve accounting workflows.
- Strong understanding of revenue accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and close-related activities.
- Experience working with OTC processes, including customer billing, revenue transactions, collections data, or related accounting support.
- SAP ECC experience preferred.
- Power BI and SQL experience preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial systems and large data sets.
- Ability to operate independently in a short-term interim consulting capacity with limited ramp time.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across accounting, finance, and systems teams.
