Job Description
Position Summary:
Contract Project Financial Analyst provides support in the effective financial and administrative monitoring of the projects, in compliance with Momentive’s policies and procedures.
This includes support to financial and administrative planning, monitoring and reporting, audit and budgetary controls, monitoring of projects requirements and support for procurement of services related to the projects with working with the Project Managers and Capital Programs Leader.
Tasks and responsibilities of the position:
- Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety.
- Ensuring that all are well informed of the status of cost associated with projects
- Provide necessary training of job, skill and knowledge in finance.
- Strong team player, able to communicate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain and post weekly timesheets for outside engineering and cap engineering.
- Ability to organize work in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain and promote a positive working environment with a variety of partners.
- Competence in financial management systems.
- Strong time management and task coordination skills.
- Highly numerate and confident using Excel.
- Demonstrated experience drafting timely, accurate reports for internal and external accountability.
- Train and guide Project Managers on project finances, administration and budget management (Cost Estimate Spend File, AR Tracker, and T&M not exceed projects.)
- Assist project managers on updating monthly AR tracker on 12 month project spending
- Maintain and post outside and cap engineering
- Send transfers of cost for capital related activities around engineering and maintenance to capital to finance for posting .
- Assist project managers on the closure of projects, review closure to ensure all cost has been accounted for and allocated correctly, and send to fixed assets for closure.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or university degree in the field of finance and/or accounting with at least 6 months of experience or more in finance
- Good understanding of business interrelationships
- High awareness of responsibility and costs
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential
- Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate teams, drive change, and deliver quantifiable improvements
- Highly motivated and energetic, willing to demonstrate significant ownership in the financial accounting
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strategic thinking ability
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Outlook / Office / Excel/ etc. – computer basics
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks at one time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial accounting and SAP is a plus
- Experience working a manufacturing facility
