Controller – Commercial Property Management
Location: Sorrento Valley Office, San Diego (On-site)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting team and serve as the key liaison between the accounting and property management divisions. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about process improvement and obsessed with driving efficiencies across all financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and hold the accounting team accountable, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting.
- Be a mentor for your staff.
- Develop and implement streamlined processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Act as the primary point of contact between accounting and property management teams, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational excellence.
- Be the accounting point of contact for our clients. Ensuring their needs are met while setting realistic expectations within the company’s defined parameters.
Qualifications:
- This is an in-person/in-office position.
- 10 years’ experience in general accounting
- 5 years in property management, a plus if in Commercial real estate
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for process improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients and fellow employees
- Extensive use of property management software such as Appfolio, Yardi, MRI or similar
