CFD Research is seeking a Supplier Program Manager to coordinate with external suppliers. This role requires a technical background to facilitate communication between internal engineering teams and external partners. The position involves managing both hardware manufacturing and services-based subcontracts, ensuring deliverables meet established requirements and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Oversee the selection and performance of suppliers providing hardware and technical services.
- Technical Coordination: Review technical specifications and Statements of Work (SOW) to ensure suppliers understand project requirements.
- Schedule Tracking: Monitor supplier milestones and delivery dates to maintain program timelines.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential delays in the supply chain and manage and report impacts to program leadership.
- Communication: Serve as the point of contact between internal teams and external vendors
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience combining a technical background with supplier or program management.
- Experience with government contracting and FAR/DFARS regulations.
- Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry standards
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication workflows.
- Proficiency in managing project schedules, budgets, and professional communications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- This position requires 20–30% travel for site visits, supplier audits, and business reviews with surge support up to 50% as required.
