Job Description: As a Summer Construction Laborer, you will assist with a large flooring project this summer under the supervision of experienced professionals. From
preparing job sites to operating tools and equipment, you will play a vital
role in supporting our projects from start to finish. This position offers the
chance to learn new skills, work hard, and make a positive impact in our
community while earning competitive pay. This hands-on role, you will prepare, grind, and help polish concrete floors to achieve a smooth and durable finish. You will work on commercial projects using specialized grinding and polishing equipment. This position requires phsical stamina, extra attention to detail, and the abiltiy to deliver high- quality results while maintaining a safe and clean job site.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of job sites, including loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Perform general labor tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials as needed.
- Operate hand and power tools under the guidance of skilled tradespeople.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Learn and apply basic construction techniques and best practices under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Prepare concrete surfaces by cleaning, sweeping, scraping, vacuuming, removing, existing coating, or adhesives.
- Repair surface imperfections, including filing cracks, holes, and voids.
- Operate large walk-behind planetary grinders, edger grinders, and polishing machines to grind and polish concrete floors through multiple stages.
- Apply densifiers, sealers, and other treatments to enhance durability and appearance.
- Perform detailed edge work and hand grinding in areas inaccessible to large machines.
Requirements:
- No previous experience required; we will provide training for motivated individuals.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Work under tight schedule.
