Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles across designated routes, including OTR driving routes.
- Transport goods in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations.
- Utilize GPS navigation systems to follow optimal routes and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Manage logistics cargo handling, including securing loads properly for safe transport.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records as required by federal and state regulations.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to truck driving.
- Strong navigation skills using GPS systems to follow route plans accurately.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
