Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Inventory Control Supervisor to lead our inventory management initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee inventory accuracy, optimize stock levels, and streamline warehouse processes to ensure seamless supply chain operations. Your expertise in supply chain management and data analytics will drive continuous improvements and elevate our inventory control standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily inventory control activities within the warehouse to maintain precise stock levels and accurate records.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 to track inventory movements and reconcile discrepancies.
- Conduct root cause analysis on inventory variances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to optimize purchasing strategies and negotiate supplier contracts for cost-effective materials handling.
- Lead process improvement initiatives using data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Nielsen to identify inefficiencies and enhance operational workflows.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials management to ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Manage inventory audits, cycle counts, and stock adjustments while ensuring compliance with safety protocols including forklift operation and heavy lifting procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or supply chain analytics within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), and data analysis tools like SQL, Power BI or Tableau.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies including root cause analysis and category management.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, supplier management, contracts negotiation, and demand planning.
- Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred.
- Excellent analysis skills with a focus on logistics optimization, stock control accuracy, and financial modeling related to inventory costs.
