Custodian

General Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse and office environment. This position performs routine janitorial and sanitation duties to support facility cleanliness, employee safety, and efficient warehouse operations. The Custodian follows established cleaning schedules and procedures while ensuring assigned areas are maintained in accordance with company standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and janitorial duties throughout the warehouse, office, break room, restroom, and other assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and remove debris from floors, aisles, and work areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and other assigned equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards.
• Follow assigned cleaning schedules, sanitation logs, and facility cleaning requirements.
• Properly use and store cleaning materials, chemicals, and supplies in accordance with safety procedures.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning and janitorial supplies and communicate reorder needs to management.
• Ensure floors, aisles, and assigned work areas are maintained free of debris and potential safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional appearance throughout assigned areas.
• Identify and report unclean or improperly maintained areas from previous shifts to the supervisor.
• Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, sanitation concerns, and facility maintenance issues to management.
• Remove snow and perform other seasonal cleaning or facility duties as required.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, sanitation, security, and quality.
• Support special cleaning projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, sanitation, warehouse, or related experience preferred.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
