The Senior Scientist – Cell Culture & Upstream Process Development leads internal cell culture and upstream activities supporting recombinant protein production for Ceva’s biotechnology programs. Reporting to the Head of Protein Sciences (new role – Charles Packianthan joining April 27, 2026), this position is responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling robust upstream processes to ensure consistent supply of high-quality materials for research and preclinical studies. The role combines strong technical expertise, operational leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to build Ceva’s internal bioprocessing capabilities and strengthen its innovation pipeline.

Your missions :
The Senior Scientist – Cell Culture & Upstream Process Development leads internal cell culture and upstream activities supporting recombinant protein production for Ceva’s biotechnology programs. Qualifications
Your profile :
- Design, optimize, and scale mammalian cell culture processes for recombinant protein expression.
- Lead day-to-day operations including bioreactor setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, batch records, and process documentation.
- Technology Transfer and Innovation
- Author technical reports, process descriptions, and transfer packages to support internal and external manufacturing.
- Identify and implement new bioreactor technologies, sensors, and media strategies to improve yield and reproducibility.
- Collaboration and Leadership
- Partner closely with Downstream, Analytical, and Quality teams to align upstream processes with overall CMC objectives.
- Mentor and train junior scientists and associates to promote technical excellence and compliance.
- Compliance and Safety
- Maintain adherence to GLP/GMP standards, biosafety guidelines, and internal quality systems.
- Support continuous improvement in laboratory safety and operational efficiency.
