Job Summary
CEV Jiu-Jitsu is seeking an experienced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor to join our established coaching team.
We are looking for a dependable, professional instructor who is passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and enjoys helping students improve both on and off the mats.
Technical ability is important, but character matters just as much. We are looking for someone who demonstrates integrity, discipline, professionalism, a strong work ethic, and the ability to be a positive role model for our students.
CEV Jiu-Jitsu is continuing to grow and expand, creating opportunities for additional classes, responsibilities, and leadership for the right person.
Schedule & Compensation
- Expected Hours: Approximately 15–25 hours per week
- Primarily evening classes
- Specific days and hours discussed during the interview
- Opportunities for additional hours as the academy grows
- Compensation based on BJJ rank, coaching experience, availability, and responsibilities and discussed during the interview
Responsibilities
- Teach structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes
- Coach beginner through advanced students
- Teach technique, drilling, positional training, and live training
- Provide clear instruction and constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe, positive, and professional training environment
- Enforce academy rules, mat safety, and behavior standards
- Help students develop confidence, discipline, consistency, and technical skills
- Work effectively alongside our existing coaching team
- Build positive relationships with students and families
- Assist with academy events, seminars, tournaments, and special activities when needed
- Represent CEV Jiu-Jitsu professionally on and off the mats
Qualifications
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training experience required
- Purple belt or higher preferred
- Previous BJJ or martial arts coaching experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Dependable, punctual, and consistent
- Strong character, integrity, and work ethic
- Comfortable leading classes independently
- Ability to work well within an established coaching team
- Experience coaching adults, teens, or youth is a plus
- CPR / First Aid certification is a plus
