Teacher Assistant

CESA 11 Head Start offers a variety of programs serving Pregnant women, children 0-3yrs old in a home based setting and 3 & 4yo center based programming. This is a full time 36hours/week, 186 day/yr. position.

Interviews will take place on July 8, 2026 at our Central Office in Turtle Lake.

Position Responsibilities:

This position will work with our 3yo center based classroom in our Polk County Head Start. Our ideal candidate will assist in promoting a positive climate for learning and fostering a cohesive group while meeting individual needs of the children. Contribute to a positive climate by providing an environment and schedules that enhance learning, using appropriate teaching strategies. Demonstrate appropriate motivation and guidance techniques, assist in constructing appropriate curriculum and assist in assessing children's learning and development. Support the teaching team through active participation, attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings, component meetings and workshops that are assigned.

Demonstrate the ability to establish positive relationships that generate a strong feeling on honesty, integrity and reliability. Demonstrate a positive attitude that is reflected in your behavior and treatment of others and possess the ability to act in difficult situations versus react.

Establish mutually respectful partnerships with families and fellow staff within the classroom and center.

Professionally represent the agency within the community and act as an advocate for Head Start families.

Wage Rate:

CDA: $18.25/hour

ECE Associate's: $18.75/hour

Candidate Qualifications:

*Must be 18 years of age.

*High School Diploma/GED

*Have or successfully complete a Child Development Associate (CDA) program within the first two year after assuming the position.

*Have or successfully complete the Introduction to the Child Care Profession within six month after assuming the position.

Or: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education

Ability to work well with diverse families as well as with your center team.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of the families and our program as required.

A valid drivers license is required.

Hours: 36 hours/week, 186 days/year.
