NY Tobacco Compliance Inspector

CES is looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to assist Underage Purchasers in performing non-confrontational compliance checks on local tobacco retailers to ensure the sale of tobacco products to Underage Purchasers is restricted. The inspection is used to establish a retailer’s compliance with federal regulations. This work is conducted on a part-time, case-volume basis with flexibility relevant to the individual’s schedule. This role is subject to independent contractor labor standards.

Duties/responsibilities:

• Travel with an Underage Purchaser; identify and verify site address provided
• Facilitate and observe undercover buys in coordination with trained Underage Purchasers
• Collect evidence of violations, such as photographs and tobacco products
• Complete compliance check inspection forms, detailing any violations, when applicable

Required qualifications/skills:

• Must maintain employment with the State of New York or be employed by a city/county within New York
• Reliable transportation
• Attention to detail
• Strict adherence to deadlines and privacy
• Law Enforcement employees are strongly encouraged to apply
