Duties
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot security alarm systems, including sensors, CCTV cameras, fire alarms, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Conduct site surveys to assess security needs and design tailored system layouts using schematics and system design principles.
- Perform wiring and cabling of low voltage electrical systems utilizing power tools and hand tools.
- Test and verify system functionality through remote access software and diagnostic tools; ensure seamless integration with existing telecommunication networks.
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance procedures, and remote access features to maximize user experience.
- Promote alarm system sales by identifying client needs, demonstrating product benefits, and providing detailed proposals.
- Maintain detailed service records, schematics, and installation logs; document all work performed accurately for compliance and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or installer in security or low voltage systems; construction or electrical background highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with hands-on experience using power tools, hand tools, and schematics interpretation.
- Knowledge of computer networking, surveillance systems (CCTV), sensors, fire alarms, and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Familiarity with security system components such as IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, CCTV cameras, lock mechanisms, and alarm panels.
- Electrical experience related to cabling, and low voltage wiring practices.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately and troubleshoot complex security setups efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and sales consultations; confident in explaining technical details clearly.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel between job sites as needed. Pay: $20.00 - $23.50 per hour
