What are the responsibilities and job description for the SD Tobacco Compliance Inspector position at CES, LLC?
CES is looking for law enforcement officers to assist Underage Purchasers in performing non-confrontational compliance checks on local tobacco retailers to ensure the sale of tobacco products to Underage Purchasers is restricted. The inspection is used to establish a retailer’s compliance with federal regulations. This work is conducted on a part-time, case-volume basis with flexibility relevant to the individual’s schedule. Duties/Responsibilities:
Pay: $24.74-$32.49 per hour (THIS ROLE IS SUBJECT TO FEDERAL SERVICE CONTRACT LABOR STANDARDS).
Schedule: Flexible

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Travel with an Underage Purchaser; identify and verify site address provided
- Facilitate and observe undercover buys in coordination with trained Underage Purchasers
- Collect evidence of violations, such as photographs and tobacco products
- Complete compliance check inspection forms, detailing any violations, when applicable
- Review retailers for compliance of advertising & labeling signage
- Inspectors must be current law enforcement officers supporting Section 702(a)(1)(A) of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and South Dakota's Codified Laws 34-46-3 (unannounced, random inspections conducted by designated local law enforcement officers).
