Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Financial Controller role based in Bellevue, WA. CES Investments is seeking a dynamic, highly organized Financial Controller to oversee and manage the company’s accounting operations and financial infrastructure. This is a hands-on, in-office leadership role ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong real estate accounting experience and the ability to manage multiple entities efficiently.The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cash management across multiple entities. This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies. The Financial Controller will lead the budgeting and forecasting process, monitor financial performance, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership and investment teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and refining internal controls, coordinating annual audits, supporting financing and transaction due diligence, and partnering with operations and asset management to improve financial efficiency and reporting quality.


Key Responsibilities:


Entity & Compliance Management

  • New LLC formation and setup
  • New EIN setup
  • Maintain all Business Licenses and renewals
  • Maintain and track all Company Filings
  • Facilitate annual reporting requirements


Accounting & Financial Management

  • Set up and maintain QuickBooks accounts
  • Perform all accounting entries in QuickBooks
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Maintain bank accounts and financial records
  • Payroll processing
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable management
  • Initiate wires to/from investing entities
  • Initiate and print investor distribution checks
  • Create Quarterly invoices


Investor & Tax Reporting

  • Facilitate K-1 preparation with CPA
  • Contribute to quarterly investor reporting
  • Prepare and provide P&L statements
  • Year-end tax reporting coordination
  • S-Corp Tax Preparation for Ownership Structure


Qualifications


  • Strong technical accounting skills, including GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, and multi-entity accounting.
  • K-1 preparation experience required
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management for a growing organization.
  • Background in real estate accounting, including property-level reporting, construction/development accounting, and familiarity with equity and debt structures.
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, advanced Excel skills, and comfort working with financial models and reporting tools.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including managing, mentoring, and developing accounting and finance team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner with executives, operations, lenders, and external auditors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller; real estate industry experience required.

Compensation

  • $130,000-150,000 annual salary
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • 3 Weeks PTO
