CES Group Engineers, LLP, an award-winning multi-discipline firm serving the Carolinas and beyond, is seeking a Land Survey CAD Technician with three (3) or more years of relevant experience to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities:
The CAD Technician will be responsible for creating, updating, and managing detailed surveying related drawings and plats for use in various engineering related land design projects. This role requires proficiency in various CAD software and a strong understanding of principles and procedures of land surveying.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and plats using AutoCAD Civil 3D/Carlson/MicroStation software.
- Modify existing drawings as required to accommodate changes and revisions.
- Prepare plats, and other detailed drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to survey standards.
- Complete project tasks and deliverables within scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining the accuracy and quality that our clients know us for
- Downloading/uploading field crew data
- Technical production of maps and drawings using various software platforms
- Daily communication with project managers and field crews to collect project information
- Any other projects as assigned by your manager
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in technology/geomatics, civil engineering, or related fields
- Three (3) years or more of experience in route surveys preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate strong self-motivational and organizational skills, experience with survey computations and platting as well as field experience required.
- Position may require work to be performed in the field.
- Land Development and route survey experience required with emphasis on public projects a plus.
- Experience with following programs preferred: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Google Earth, Trimble Business Center and Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Experience with MicroStation is a plus.
- Experience with the following equipment preferred: Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, robotic total stations
- Computer skills involved in the submittal of daily files including downloading of data, preparation/organization of field sketches & digital photographs, completion of daily checklists is required.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
