Inspector

Position Overview

Civil Inspector is responsible for providing inspection services for multiple Wastewater Treatment Facilities including all associated pump stations and Combined Sewage Overflow ("CSO") facilities in their drainage areas.

Responsibilities: 

• Inspection services for various NYCDEP projects that can include: Plumbing (Mechanical), General Construction (Structural), Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Electrical (including Instrumentation) trades
• Ensure full-time monitoring of all construction activities to guarantee compliance with project specifications 
• Conduct continuous technical inspections to confirm that quality measures are implemented daily 
• Prepare daily field technical reports and computations; collect and document initial, progress, 
• and final photographs 
• Conduct substantial and final inspections alongside the supervisor and designated personnel 
• Verify contractor adherence to contract requirements, quality control standards, and safety protocols. 
• Additional duties as assigned by Management

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of NYCDEP Construction Inspection of Wastewater Treatment Plants or facilities 
• OSHA Construction 30-hour 
• Scaffolding User 4 hours. - NYC accredited course 
• Confined Space - 8hours course 
• LOTO 2 hours - 4 hours 
• Fall protection - 4 hours  
• Valid driving license Car required. 

Technical Skills:

• Microsoft Office 

Soft Skills:

• Detailed oriented and reliable, while demonstrating a high-level of interpersonal, diplomacy, and organizational skills.   
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.  
• Ability to collaborate with multiple team members.
