JOB DESCRIPTION
The Event Sales Manager is a dynamic, client-facing role responsible primarily for generating event revenue through corporate and private booking, while supporting marketing initiatives that drive traffic and brand awareness for the taproom.
This role works closely with external clients and partners, our online agency and PR company, as well as internal management and operations teams. A key focus is proactively building a strong pipeline of event business, managing client relations. And executing events successfully.
In addition, the role supports the development and execution of marketing strategies, including music and entertainment programming, designed to drive brand awareness and demand.
Responsibilities include leading client negotiations, managing the event sales pipeline and revenue performance, networking to build new business opportunities, and managing event and marketing budget objectives.
DUTIES
Roles/Responsibilities:
The Event Manager’s duties and responsibilities center on prospecting, selling, contracting, and successfully planning event execution prior to handoff to the Taproom GM and Chef. This role requires excellent communication skills with both customers and staff, along with strong attention to detail. Event Managers handle a wide range of responsibilities before and during events, including meeting with clients to assess and conceptualize their needs and vision for various occasions, selling the venue through client walkthroughs, presenting food, beverage, and experience options, and coordinating all arrangements necessary to execute the client’s vision. They also address any issues that arise during and after events, maintain internal standards, build and manage vendor partnerships, and work closely with internal teams to coordinate the setup, execution, and cleanup of events.
• Recommend event budgets and manage execution within approved financial plans.
• Build, develop, and maintain strong client and partner relationships.
• Manage and track the sales pipeline within TripleSeat to ensure accurate forecasting and follow-up.
• Identify, prospect, and secure new corporate, private, and social event clients.
• Negotiate contracts and close event sales aligned with revenue targets.
• Respond to leads in a timely and professional manner.
• Gather detailed information about client objectives, budgets, preferences, and event vision.
• Listen attentively to client requests and maintain accurate records of all event details.
• Plan events from concept through execution based on client goals, audience, and brand standards.
• Provide professional guidance on menus, décor, entertainment, and overall event experience.
• Collaborate with the GM and Chef on menu design and pricing strategies.
• Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless event planning and execution.
• Develop detailed run-of-show timelines and staff schedules for each event.
• Oversee all event components prior to and on event day, resolving issues quickly and professionally.
• Communicate and coordinate with vendors and suppliers for additional services such as audiovisual, security, and entertainment.
• Obtain vendor quotes, review invoices, and approve payments in accordance with budget guidelines.
• Ensure all events comply with insurance, health, safety, and operational standards.
• Assist in maintaining and improving operational and service standards.
• Manage all administrative duties related to events, including invoicing, payment collection, and distribution of Banquet Event Orders and Kitchen Sheets via TripleSeat.
• Analyze event performance data to identify trends and recommend revenue-generating initiatives, including pricing strategies.
• Assess event success, prepare post-event reports, and recommend improvements.
• Drive revenue through strategic upselling of La Tropical beer and Mixologia products.
Marketing responsibilities are focused on supporting event sales and driving traffic to the taproom. This includes overseeing the overall look and feel of both interior and exterior spaces, menu design, print and online marketing, as well as developing a strong, year-round music and entertainment program. The role requires an entrepreneurial, driven hospitality professional who understands current and emerging trends within the vibrant Wynwood and Miami markets.
Marketing & Brand Responsibilities
• Collaborate with marketing teams and external agencies to develop campaigns that generate event leads and increase venue visibility.
• Support development and execution of promotional initiatives, digital campaigns, and branded event concepts.
• Contribute to the annual marketing and entertainment calendar to drive traffic and brand awareness.
• Ensure brand consistency across event materials, promotions, and guest-facing communications.
• Identify trends in hospitality, entertainment, and consumer behavior to inform programming and promotional strategies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
