Position Description:
Summary: The Needle Technician primary responsibility is daily cleaning and maintenance of needle boards, ensuring safe and effective operation of the Needle Board department. Performs to support the production of a superior product of utmost quality to meet customer needs and expectations, while maintaining the work environment. Responsible for maintaining high standards of safety in the manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to safety procedures and OSHA guidelines, including correctly and consistently wearing required PPE, including eye, ear, foot and hand protection.
Report all employee and safety incidents and machine issues to Team Lead and/or Supervisor
Use appropriate hand tools to clean needle boards daily.
Use appropriate hand tools to change broken needles.
Replace all needles every 3 months for routine maintenance.
Report all safety hazards.
Housekeeping: Keep work areas clean and free of unsafe conditions. Report unsafe conditions to the Supervisor, Manager or Leadership.
Record needle replacement.
Record needle rotation.
Work call shifts as needed
Other duties as assigned.
Ensures safety is the main priority on all jobs performed by the crew.
Will follow guidelines for LOTO, PPE usage, all Permitting Programs and Forklift Certification
Reports all safety hazards and any unsafe conditions to supervision
Does not allow any member of the crew to work in an unsafe manner
Participates and contributes to Risk Assessments as appropriate
Participates and contributes to accident investigations and root cause analysis as appropriate
Qualifications/Competencies:
Team oriented, demonstrating the ability and willingness to work well with others in a team environment
High School Diploma/GED
Good organizational and time management skills
Good communication skills. Basic mathematical and computer skills
Regular and predictable attendance
Ability to work in a constant changing environment
