Overview
Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, a prominent Long Island law firm, is seeking a full time experienced Paralegal to support its Banking/Commercial Lending Department (Multifamily Practice group) in East Meadow, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Assist team with all administrative tasks including by not limited to tracking the status of all matters. Provide overflow administrative support, including but not limited to, answering telephones, making copies, scheduling meetings, and entering data into the billing system.
- Maintain and organize client files.
- Prepare and format documents (including merges) and proofread documents for accuracy.
- Prepare binders for closings and handle post-closing organization for delivery to clients.
- Assist with the collection and preliminary review of closing due diligence, including title work, insurance and organizational documents, lease agreements, etc.
- For Advanced Candidates: review title reports and due diligence items; handle small commercial loan transactions under attorney supervision.
Qualifications:
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Able to meet deadlines, multi-task and available to work occasional overtime.
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills with the ability to effectively interact via telephone, e-mail and in-person with clients, attorneys, title companies, insurance companies, etc.
- Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- 3-5 years paralegal experience preferred (preferably general real estate or commercial lending experience).
- Paralegal Certificate from an accredited Paralegal Program or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Closing experience, a plus.

- Hourly rate (35 hour work week): $41.21 - $46.70 per hour commensurate with experience
