Job Summary
Licensed Special Inspection Company located in Tuckahoe, NY seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a CWI certification. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong field experience and the required certifications.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Lead Special Inspections operations, oversee quality control, manage regulatory risk, and manage staff
- Perform Structural Steel inspections for: Welding, Bolting
- Conduct additional inspections as needed, including: Reinforcing Steel, Firestopping, Spray-On Fireproofing
Qualifications
- 4 years of NYC construction, inspections, or
- Strong leadership experience
- Expertise in NYC Building Code, Chapter 17 Special Inspections, and DOB procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; active NYS PE
- Working knowledge of NYC Mechanical Code and ASHRAE standards
- Ability to support design and load calculations
- Minimum Certifications required: ICC welding and bolting (but CWI preferred) and PE-licensed Mechanical Engineer
- Preferred additional qualifications: ACI certified, ICC certified, and NDT certifications are a strong plus
