Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team in the NYC area. In this role, you’ll oversee and document mechanical construction activities, ensuring all work complies with approved contracts, specifications, and shop drawings. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining safety, quality, and progress on key infrastructure and environmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Inspect contractor work to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Prepare daily inspection reports summarizing staffing, work performed, and quantities for payment documentation.
- Review and maintain Time & Material (T&M) records as needed.
- Track and document progress in e-Builder or similar project management systems.
- Coordinate and communicate with owners, contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies.
- Promote and enforce safety and code compliance on all assigned projects.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in electrical construction, engineering, or inspection — preferably on wastewater treatment or NYC DEP projects.
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- New York State Journeyman License(s) preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification (within the last five years).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and inspection procedures.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed inspection documentation and reports.
