Overview
This position is responsible for performing and overseeing maintenance activities at the South Plant. The role ensures proper upkeep of machinery and execution of preventive maintenance to support safe, efficient production and growing operations. This position also serves as the Safety Liaison for the Maintenance Department, ensuring safety policies and procedures are implemented and followed to protect our most valuable asset—our employees.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Schedule and oversee maintenance activities to ensure timely and efficient completion.
· Communicate effectively with upper management, managers, and leads regarding maintenance needs, issues, or concerns.
· Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper upkeep of all machinery and equipment.
· Perform maintenance functions in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency and safety.
· Order approved maintenance supplies and parts (e.g., tractor parts, hand tools).
· Monitor and maintain adequate on-hand inventory of maintenance materials and parts.
· Operate company vehicles as needed to pick up parts, supplies, and equipment for maintenance and plant operations.
· Communicate potential issues and maintenance concerns to the Director of Operations.
· Ensure safety processes and procedures are consistently followed and enforced within the Maintenance Department.
· Recommend, discuss, and implement approved improvements across the plant.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
· Proven experience in maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance and equipment repair.
· Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
· Experience leading or supervising maintenance personnel.
· Ability to work well with others and collaborate across departments.
· Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
· High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Valid driver’s license required; must be able to meet company MVR requirements.
