Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and facility upkeep. Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety protocols for storage, mixing, and disposal to ensure a secure environment.
• Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain pristine floors and surfaces.
• Conduct routine sanitation procedures such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and facilities upkeep to support overall building operations.
• Follow safety procedures diligently during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe lifting practices.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supply inventories, and safety inspections to support ongoing facility management.

Qualifications

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical dispensers.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely by adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of sanitation standards and safety protocols in facilities maintenance.
• Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling while practicing safe lifting practices.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with staff or visitors.
• Basic knowledge of residential painting or industrial cleaning is a plus but not required.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
