Service Manager Job Description:

As a Service Manager for our Certified Fleet Service, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of our maintenance and repair operations. You will lead a team of skilled technicians and support staff to ensure that all vehicles in our fleet are maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Service Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure that all vehicles are serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to ensure timely completion of repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as repair turnaround time, first-time fix rate, and customer satisfaction.
  • Train and mentor service technicians to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as fleet operations and procurement, to optimize fleet performance and reduce operating costs.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing their service needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay current with developments in automotive technology and industry trends.

Service Manager Qualifications:

  • GED or High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in automotive service management, preferably in a fleet maintenance environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to fleet maintenance and safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Minimum 4 years of automotive/truck repair experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Service Manager Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
  • Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, truck shop environment, and cold or heat
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

Pay: $53,848.18 - $64,849.43 per year
