Job SummaryThe Fire Journeyman at Certified Fire will complete the installation, service and maintenance of fire alarm systems for customers.
Primary Responsibilities:Install low voltage panels, wiring and other devicesProgram FACP with applicable devicesTest equipment after installation or repairs to ensure the system is working properlyProvide customers with instruction on system operation and functionalityMaintain equipment and supplies to ensure they are in good working orderEnsure clear and timely communication with Journeyman, assigned crew and other team members.Completes work in accordance with NFPA and Company standardsMaintains a safe and secure work environment by following safe practices; following all job site safety requirements and keeping security information confidential.Provide any PPE that is not issued by the companyAccurately record all hours spent on jobs worked. This may include using a time clock to clock in and out for shifts, and/or tracking time spent on each job site.
Required Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience in programming & troubleshooting preferredLicensing: Valid Driver LicenseUtah State Fire Alarm Level 2 or Higher/NICET Level 2 FASSkills:Excellent two-way communication skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and specsMust be able to effectively operate a smart phone deviceAbility to work as a team or independentlyStrong time management skillsOther: Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle records checkSuccessful participation and completion of random drug screenings
Physical Requirements & Exposure to Elemental Factors:Continually (75% or more)· Work in a fast-paced, construction environment· Standing and walking· Work on ladders and elevated surfaces· Climbing a ladder/step stool· Bending· Stooping/kneeling/crouching· Reaching overhead· Lifting/carrying/pushing and/or pulling 100 lbs · Grasping/squeezing· Use of clear and audible speaking voice· Ability to hear normal speech volume level· Heat, cold, noise, dust, vibration, uneven surfaceFrequently (50% or more)· Sitting· Work in small spaces· Use of hand and power toolsOccasionally (25%):· Ability to hear whispered speech level· Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions-elevated surfaces, scaffolding, crawl spaces and other small spaces, ducts, above ceilings, etc.Never (0%):· Blood-borne pathogen Exposure Categories (no risk for BBP)
Salary Range:$30-$45/hour, depending on experienceWeekly pay schedule
