Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team at Certified Express, Inc. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Manger will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day financial operations and supporting the overall financial strategy and objectives. This role is integral to maintaining our financial health and compliance while providing insights and recommendations for business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
- Assist the CFO in the daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting.
- Assist in the management of cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for operations and investments.
- Assist in the development of key financial metrics to measure the company's performance.
2. Strategic Planning and Analysis:
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to the CFO.
- Assist the CFO in long-term financial planning and forecasting.
- Utilize AI tools and methodologies for financial modeling and forecasting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Evaluate potential business opportunities, investments, and cost-saving measures.
3. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Assist in compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
4. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing AI for financial modeling and forecasting.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
