Experienced Residential Electrician

Certified Electricians of Long Island is growing, and we are looking to hire an experienced Residential Electrical Service Technician immediately.

Our primary service area is generally within approximately 15 miles of Selden, New York. This is a full-time, customer-facing position for an electrician who can independently manage residential service calls from diagnosis through completion.

We are looking for someone who:
-Can independently run residential service calls from start to finish
-Can accurately diagnose electrical problems and recommend appropriate solutions
-Performs safe, code-compliant, high-quality work
-Communicates clearly and professionally with homeowners
-Maintains a professional appearance appropriate for a residential service
-Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team
-Can manage time effectively and complete work within reasonable timeframes
-Is comfortable asking questions and researching unfamiliar code requirements when necessary
-Takes responsibility for their work, paperwork, photographs, and customer communication

The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and ability typically developed through approximately six or more years of electrical field experience. However, we recognize that people develop at different rates, and equivalent knowledge, training, and demonstrated ability will be considered.

We do not expect anyone to memorize every electrical code requirement. Resources are available, and questions are encouraged. However, applicants must already possess the practical skills and electrical knowledge necessary to perform residential service work accurately, and efficiently. This includes, service upgrades, recessed lighting installation, EV chargers etc

There won’t be unrealistic production expectations asked of you, at the same time, when the workload requires everyone to focus and move with purpose, we expect the team to work together and get the job done.

Guaranteed 8 hours each day, Guaranteed 40 hours per week, overtime is calculated daily, if you work hard then you deserve to be compensated appropriately.

Position Requirements
-Demonstrated residential electrical service experience
-Ability to safely and independently perform the essential duties of the position
-Valid driver’s license
-Driving record acceptable under the company’s commercial auto-insurance requirements
-Ability to reliably travel throughout the assigned service area
-Ability to safely use ladders, tools, testing equipment, and other equipment required for residential electrical work
-Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
