Position Overview
The Information Technology Director provides strategic leadership and direction for all technology systems, infrastructure, and digital initiatives across the organization, and all team members charged with maintaining them. This role is responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring the security and reliability of technology resources, and leading a high-performing IT team to support growth, efficiency, and innovation. There is a significant IT transformation effort being contemplated at the executive level, for which the incumbent in this role will lead the execution.
Essential Functions:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy in alignment with overall business goals, and in collaboration with executive leadership.
- Participate in the formation of an IT Steering Committee and contribute to its efforts to set IT policy that meets the needs of all stakeholders.
- Advise executive leadership on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee IT governance, budgeting, and policy development.
Infrastructure & Operations Management
- Direct the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and applications.
- Ensure system reliability, data integrity, and business continuity through robust disaster recovery and cybersecurity practices.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs), particularly relationships with managed service and telecommunications providers.
Security & Compliance
- Establish and enforce information security policies and procedures.
- Oversee risk management, data protection, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff to foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage IT staffing, professional development, and succession planning.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Drive technology-enabled business transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, and data analytics.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Knowledge of networking, software, hardware, and cybersecurity.
- Deep understanding of network architecture, systems integration, and data management
- Experience working across entire organizations, and managing the needs of multiple stakeholders, preferably in the middle market environment.
- Ability to manage complex budgets and vendor relationships
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology is preferred, but not required, and may be replaced by significant professional experience.
- 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, particularly in large/multi-site organizations.
- Proven experience managing enterprise systems, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity programs.
- Experience leading digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- On-site office environment
- Moderate travel is required
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass a drug and background check.
- Regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs
- Requires the visual ability to perform detailed work at close distances (computer screens, accounting ledgers, using measurement devices).
- This job regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either by phone or in person.
- Must be able to speak and read the English language.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay Range - $152,000 - $160,000 Annually
