What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Specialist position at Certarus?
Summary:
The Parts Specialist will be responsible for supporting the parts department, including the maintenance of sufficient inventory levels to meet projected parts needs of the region. They will also be responsible for inspecting and accepting incoming shipments of inventory against supplier packing lists, ensuring items have been received in a satisfactory state and that outgoing items are correctly packed, with completed documentation. This position will report directly to the Inventory Manager.
Schedule:
- This is a travel-intensive field support role requiring weekly travel between assigned operational hubs.
- Monday - Friday schedule
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receives inbound material from outside suppliers
- Purchase parts from manufacturers and suppliers; acquire parts from other locations as needed to maintain and replenish inventory
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits
- Process external and internal parts orders by completing invoices, updating inventory records, verifying customer credit and shipping parts as needed
- Advise leaders on parts activities, future trends and matters which affect the efficiency of the department regarding customer relations
- Maintain current parts manuals and documentation for all equipment
- Assist technicians in the shop on an as needed basis
- Exceptional customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
- Present a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and vendors
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Working closely with the Purchasing department to purchase parts from manufacturers and suppliers, and acquire parts from other locations as needed to maintain and replenish inventory
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Warehouse or Parts Specialist position
- Oil/gas experience preferred
- Experience with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Consignment
- Experience with inventory systems
- Able to operate a forklift or pallet jack
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence
- Self-motivated and able to, when required, identify work requirements in your regions with minimal guidance, since this is a remote position
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math
- Be able to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Also able to squat, reach, etc.
- Proficient in the use of MS365, and other industry software
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR and background check
