About the Role
As a Plant Health Care Technician at Ceres Landcare, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing plant health issues across a portfolio of high-end residential and commercial properties throughout the Eagle Valley and surrounding mountain communities. This is a year-round position that offers stability, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to do meaningful, specialized work in one of Colorado's most beautiful landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect trees, shrubs, turf, and ornamental plants to identify disease, insect infestations, nutritional deficiencies, and environmental stressors
- Develop and execute customized plant health care treatment programs tailored to each property
- Apply pesticides, fertilizers, and other treatments in strict accordance with label requirements and applicable state and federal regulations
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all treatments, applications, and client communications
- Communicate findings, treatment plans, and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner
- Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust programs as needed to ensure optimal plant health
- Stay current on emerging pest pressures, diseases, and best practices specific to mountain and high-altitude environments
- Operate and maintain application equipment in a safe, clean, and professional manner
- Collaborate with field crews, arborists, and project managers to deliver a seamless client experience
Qualifications
- Colorado Pesticide Applicator License — required
- 3 years of experience in plant health care, arboriculture, or a related field
- ISA Certified Arborist designation preferred
- Strong working knowledge of pest and disease pressures common to mountain and high-altitude environments
- Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) principles and practices
- Valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record — required
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, client-first approach
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping

Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding, fully outdoor role. Candidates must be able to:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods throughout the workday
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently
- Work outdoors in varying mountain weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and altitude
- Operate backpack sprayers, application equipment, and related tools safely throughout the workday
- Work in proximity to chemicals and adhere to all required safety protocols and PPE requirements
