We are seeking a Loader Operator to support debris removal and disaster recovery operations across active project sites. This role is responsible for operating front-end loaders to move, stage, and load debris and materials efficiently and safely.

This position is part of field operations and does not typically manage personnel but plays a critical role in production, site efficiency, and safety. Success in the first 12 months includes demonstrating safe equipment operation, maintaining consistent productivity, and effectively supporting high-volume debris removal operations in dynamic environments.

What You Will Do

  • Operate front-end loaders to load, move, and stockpile debris, including vegetation, sediment, construction and demolition materials, and storm-related waste.
  • Support disaster response efforts by clearing roadways, staging debris, and loading trucks for transport and disposal.
  • Perform site preparation and material handling in support of field operations.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow project plans and supervisor direction to meet operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to operate safely in active job sites with ground crews and trucks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support multiple aspects of disaster response operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy equipment.
  • Proven ability to safely handle and move debris and materials in active work zones.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work in outdoor, physically demanding environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in disaster recovery, construction, or environmental operations.
  • OSHA certification (10-hour or 30-hour).
  • Experience working around hauling trucks and coordinated loading operations.
  • CDL license is a plus.

What to Expect

This is a fast-paced, field-based role supporting disaster recovery operations across various locations. Work takes place outdoors in active job sites that may involve debris, heavy equipment, and changing environmental conditions. Schedules may include extended hours, weekends, and travel depending on project needs.

You will work as part of a collaborative team focused on restoring communities quickly and safely following natural disasters. The role requires adaptability, strong situational awareness, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in high-volume, time-sensitive operations.

  • Ability to work in adverse weather and field conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
  • Commitment to following safety standards and protocols.
