Duties
- Safely operate various vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise with proper lifting practices, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Communicate professionally with customers to confirm deliveries, answer questions, and build rapport
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety before each shift
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and client interactions
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and sales goals
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, route driving, or automobile transportation with a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe lifting practices for heavy items
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
- Basic math skills for pricing calculations, inventory management, and transaction processing
- Retail store experience or merchandising skills to support product presentation during deliveries
