Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of specialty coffee equipment including espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and related appliances.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, plumbing layouts, and mechanical drawings to diagnose issues accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs efficiently and safely.
- Conduct refrigeration checks and ensure proper functioning of cooling systems integral to coffee equipment.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to adjust or replace components such as valves, pumps, motors, and electrical parts.
- Manage appliance assembly and installation tasks in various settings, including commercial cafes or office environments.
- Operate company vehicles for on-site service calls or equipment delivery while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about repairs, maintenance schedules, and operational tips.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and follow-up actions required.
- Collaborate with team members on preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with appliance repair and installation in commercial or industrial settings; experience with specialty coffee machines is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical skills combined with electrical experience; familiarity with schematics and ladder logic is advantageous.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, electrical wiring, and power tools usage.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic techniques.
- Experience working with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) supplies and procedures in a field service environment.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles such as box trucks; clean driving record required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments while maintaining safety standards.
