What are the responsibilities and job description for the LearningRx Cognitive Trainer position at Cerebral Palsy Inc?
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Cognitive Trainer is to lead brain training sessions with individuals using the LearningRx research-based program. The Cognitive Trainer will serve as a primary resource to students and families to provide information pertaining to development, programs, and potential outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Deliver one-on-one fast paced, research-based training to individuals participating in the LearningRx programs.
- Focus on strengthening core cognitive skills that are outlined in the Trainers Manual.
- Be familiar with each program offered by LearningRx and understand the various delivery methods.
- Responsible for planning and recording each session.
- Communicate with parents on daily progress.
- Communicate with Site Manager regarding student performance, successes, and concerns.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. (i.e. medical field, Psychology, COTA, PTA) Will consider 2nd/3rd year students.
1-2 years previous experience in an education/coaching/training setting preferred.
Strong reading and spelling skills.
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to operate office equipment including computers, printers, faxes, and copiers.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to be patient with others and foster cooperative and courteous working relationships.
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to respond to varied/changing work demands and make decisions as required.
- Sensitivity to confidential matters.
- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Successful completion of background check (at hire and every 2 years) and drug screen.
