Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of cabling systems including low voltage and fiber optic cables.
- Conduct thorough testing of cable installations using tools such as voltmeters to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and perform necessary repairs on computer networking systems.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
- Document all work performed, including installation details and service reports.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their cabling needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in telecommunication services or as a cable technician is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cabling techniques, low voltage systems, and electrical principles.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts, including Ethernet configurations.
- Experience with fiber splicing techniques is a plus.
- Previous experience in structured cabling, low-voltage, or IT installations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts
- Comfortable working independently during overnight hours
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred
- Valid driver's license may be required for travel between job sites.
