Production Supervisor 3rd shift

Information about the Company: Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually.  We are hiring immediately for an experienced Production Supervisor for our facility in Chicago, IL.  The position will be on 3rd shift (10pm – 6am). The schedule is Monday - Friday and will include some Saturdays during busy season / as production needs dictate. This is an exempt level position with approximately 45 direct reports (non-exempt employees).Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, Cenveo provides competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.Job Summary:The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of assigned production shift (s). This role involves overseeing and coordinating daily production activities, managing and developing personnel, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.  Production Supervisor Responsibilities & Daily Duties:Safety: Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies, conducting accident investigations, implementing corrective actions, and developing safe operating procedures. Accompany injured employees for treatment. Production Management: Execute and communicate production plans, monitor staffing and equipment needs, oversee startup and shutdown operations, ensure optimal production performance, and manage production schedules and workflows. Track and manage production KPIs. Quality Assurance: Monitor defect rates, report quality issues, ensure adherence to standard work and work instructions, and ensure quality control inspections and reporting are completed hourly. Conduct regular quality checks and address quality concerns. Continuous Improvement: Provide leadership in continuous improvement by introducing / sustaining lean manufacturing concepts.  Identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures, reduce scrap and rework, and encourage employee participation in improvement activities. Employee Relations & Development: Manage and develop production personnel through coaching, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and by identifying and nurturing future leaders. Administrative & Reporting: Monitor and update the timekeeping system (payroll). Generate reports on performance and progress.   Production Supervisor Requirements & Qualifications A minimum of five (5) years of experience in leading and developing production teams to optimize workflow and achieve operational excellence.   Experience is envelope manufacturing is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in a relevant field preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent time management and communication skills including the ability to evaluate and actively listen. Thorough knowledge of the production process, a non-negotiable commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and verify color accuracy for print / inspection applications preferred.Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and non-traditional hours when needed. Self-starters who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and exercise independent judgment.Solid foundation in mathematics and the ability to accurately interpret measurements.Other duties as required and/or assigned.  Production Supervisor Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting, standing) and move about the work area (e.g., walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting). Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds with/without assistance. Manual dexterity and color vision are essential for handling and grasping objects, utilizing hand/finger coordination Required to wear hearing protection, safety shoes. Exposure to production equipment, noise, hazardous materials (inks, glue, etc.).  Cenveo is an EEO employer
