The Shop Coordinator plays a critical role in construction practices and projects relating to pavement marking and traffic control operations. This essential teammate is mainly focused on providing pre-and-post support to ensure the construction process goes smoothly and efficiently. This is a second shift role, Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to midnight with a half hour unpaid lunch. All of this will be accomplished while working together as a team to continually move Century forward. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely work with the crew to load and unload equipment onto and off work trucks.
- Maintain a clean shop and yard area.
- Monitor material levels and notify Superintendent of shortages.
- Perform basic equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure trucks are clean, organized and job ready.
- Finish projects as requested from the Foreman or Superintendent.
- Complete required paperwork, time sheets, and safety documentation accurately and on time.
- Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtime as required by project schedules.
Qualifications:
- All roles are required to be on site at their assigned location daily to perform their role.
- Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, twisting, crawling, kneeling and climbing as necessary throughout the day.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping the steering wheel, handling cones, loading and unloading trucks and moving forms from location to location.
- Frequent use of feet for operating brake and accelerator as well as walking.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at chest level during workday. Will lift heavy equipment as necessary. May occasionally lift above the head.
- Utilizing forklift, supply truck, pickup truck and trailer and any specialized equipment.
- Ideally, prior construction or maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license, CDL is a plus.
- Knowledge of tools and applications.
- Basic understanding of blueprints (read and comprehend), materials and proper applications, is preferrable.
- High school diploma or GED.
