What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler (B Shift) position at Century Mold Co?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner by getting along with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors, managers, and all other employees.
- Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all quality system procedures and requirements related to the position.
- Must adhere to all safety rules and Company policies.
- Attendance/punctuality: is consistently at work and on time.
Confers with Shift Supervisor and monitors schedule board for job and priority changes.
Check hoppers hourly; maintain proper materials and temperatures.
- Record material lot numbers and provide information to Warehouse and Quality affecting accuracy and timeliness of both inventory and usage.
- Pull material as requested by manufacturing and dry if it is required.
Calculate amount of material required and place at machine or holding area.
- Clean and inspect hopper and loader before loading new material.
- Inspect and clean or replace filters, hoses, clamps, and latches during change overs.
- Attach hopper tag with all required information; correct discrepant situations.
- Notify maintenance of equipment failures.
- Provide materials to operators as needed.
- Return unused material to storage.
- Take scrap off of the floor

- Mix materials when required.
- Provide training for new employees.
Responsible for production and scheduling regarding inventory levels, inventory changes, and materials requirements.
- Clean as needed; vacuum presses, clean up any spills, etc.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to learn new software as needed.
