Summary
The Employment Law Paralegal provides litigation and administrative support to attorneys throughout all phases of employment law cases. This role assists with case management, legal document preparation, court filings, and coordination of discovery, while ensuring deadlines are met and case files remain organized and up to date.
Responsibilities
- Assist with drafting, propounding, and responding to discovery
- Maintain and monitor court calendars to ensure all deadlines are tracked and met
- Schedule and coordinate court hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Prepare, finalize, and file legal documents with state and federal courts
- Ensure timely and proper service of all case documents to involved parties
- Follow up on records requests, service of process, and correspondences
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness prior to attorney review
- Develop and maintain document templates and filing shells
- Communicate with court clerks to obtain case information or confirm filing requirements
- Prepare and issue subpoenas and legal notices
- Upload and organize all case documents in the appropriate Dropbox folders
- Maintain and update case files
- Assist with fact investigation and drafting complaints
- Retrieve and review case-related documents and records
- Create and update document production lists
- Support trial preparation by drafting trial materials and organizing exhibits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in employment law
- Strong understanding of California court procedures, deadlines, and filing requirements
- Experience preparing discovery, subpoenas, pleadings, and litigation documents
- Excellent organizational, time management, and deadline management skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Pay: $33.00 - $43.00 per hour
