Driver/Warehouse Job Description

The Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate is essential to fulfilling our mission and reaching our objectives. In this position, you will oversee the effective functioning of the delivery processes and warehouse operations, which encompasses the safe operation of a motor vehicle, forklifts, the delivery of goods, efficient operation of the warehouse through various functional duties which may include the shipping, receiving and/or transfers departments, and customer service. Your responsibilities will include selecting and preparing orders for customer delivery or Will Call Orders, ensuring that all deliveries are made promptly and accurately along designated routes and that all Orders are pulled with accuracy and urgency. You will also be required to complete the necessary documentation for delivered items or Will Call Orders in accordance with company procedures and customer or vendor guidelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping the vehicle/forklifts organized and adhering to company policies related to vehicle maintenance, services, and driver conduct.

Essential Duties

• Loading and unloading merchandise using required machinery and tools
• Manage the operation of forklifts.
• Conduct daily inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and carry out vehicle maintenance.
• Prepare the appropriate paperwork for the items that have been received
• Adhere to the company's guidelines concerning vehicle upkeep, service procedures, and driver regulations
• Provide support to the inside sales representatives and/or other staff as required.
• Order pulling and put aways in warehouse bins
• It is required that the person can lift and handle loads of up to 50lb independently, without the use of mechanical assistance
• Managing delivery logistics and designing routes based on the preferences of each customer
• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
• Strategize and manage communication with customers regarding delivery specifics, including pickup or delivery schedules using Google Maps, and accommodating special requests 
• Ordering pulling and organizing product by storing items in designated bins within the warehouse
• Conveying messages, including work orders, to and from work crews, field inspectors, supervisors, and emergency personnel via telephone, two-way radios, or text messages
• Strong problem-solving, including handling requests for services and equipment.
• Pull and prepare orders to be shipped or picked up by customer;
• Ensure neat and orderly warehouse area, including loading docks;
• Complete appropriate paperwork to track and ship merchandise per company procedure and/or vendor instruction;
• Complete appropriate reports per management’s request;
• Perform cycle count duties.
• Communicate with management regarding inventory related issues including discrepancies, damage and non-stock inventory;

Educational Requirements and/or Experience Required

• At least a high school diploma. 
• No prior driver/warehouse experience necessary, however at least 6 months of driver/warehouse/construction experience is preferred.
• Valid Texas Drivers License.
• Forklift Experience is preferred but not required.

Skills

• Basic mathematics skills (add, divide, multiply and subtract units of measure)
• Ability to interpret instruction
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery
• Ability to operate a Delivery Truck (sizes vary), no CDL is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Valid & current driver’s License
• 6 months of driving experience preferred 
• Clean driving record (within the last 3 years) is necessary
• Proficiency in comprehending guidelines & instructions
• Capable of operating a motor vehicle
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Ability to sit for several hours at a time
• Wear Century polo uniform apparel 
• Ability to drive & work in inclement weather
• Maintain vehicle maintenance & appearance
• Strong communication & customer service skills
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, division, multiplication and subtraction).

• The ability to meet deadlines and organizational skills
• Order pulling, manage organization of products and equipment in warehouse bins
• Ability to follow road laws/regulations
