Groundskeeper 2 - The Nelson

Overview

The Greenskeeper 2, under supervision of the superintendent, assistant superintendent or foreman, performs work involving the use of large equipment and small equipment. Including but not limited to rough, fairway, tee, and greens mowers, as well as weed eaters, bunker rakes, and blowers.

Functions

· Operates all types of equipment; turbine blower, weed eater, greens mower, etc..

· May operate smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor.

· Ensures that the equipment is always working; refills fuel daily; cleans equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment staff or Manager immediately.

· Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations.

· Performs special projects delegated by management.

· Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location.

· Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.

Employment Standards

· Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.

· Mechanical aptitude.

· Ability to follow oral and written directions.

· Willingness to learn and perform new golf maintenance programs

· Possession of a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

· Standing for long periods of time

· Use of hands and fingers to handle and feel

· Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

· Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus

Willingness to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold and varying types of precipitation.

Schedule:

• Holidays
• Monday to Sunday (scheduled to work every other weekend)
• 40 hours per week with OT availability

Experience:

• Turf Maintenance Equipment operation (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
