What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Final Stager in Upholstery position at Century Furniture?
Summary Job Description
This position is responsible for staging furniture to the final inspection area and or moving material in other assigned areas
Essential Duties
- Push furniture frames in the Upholstery Dept
- Organize and maintain furniture coming in the Upholstery Department
- Help stag work to the Inside & Outside Upholstery Departments
- May break down or tear down repairs
- Must be able to move specific product to work areas in a timely manner
- May be required to work in multiple departments or assigned areas
- Ability to learn to identify and measure different types of furniture
- Rotate stock- FIFO (first in first out), as appropriate
- Must be self-motivated with little supervision
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous material handling experience a plus

- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
- Must have good eye sight and able to wear to protective safety glasses
- Must be able to push furniture across the concrete floor
- Must be able to walk and stand for 9-hour shift, on concrete floors
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, twist, stoop, and carry supplies
- Must be able to work independently, yet able to communicate and get along with others
