Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient intake with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Maintain and update patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks or similar platforms
- Answer multi-line phone systems efficiently, providing excellent customer service and appointment coordination
- Review documentation for accuracy, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and manage medical records securely
- Assist with insurance verification, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and billing procedures to support accurate medical documentation
- Support clinic operations by managing office supplies, filing documents, and maintaining a clean front desk environment
- Collaborate with dental professionals to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between staff and patients
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical setting with dental office experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing practices
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth is highly desirable
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing (10 key typing skills)
- Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and perform insurance-related documentation review
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Previous clinic or hospital experience is advantageous; familiarity with health information management is preferred
