FUNCTION:
Responsible for assisting guests with purchasing merchandise in a friendly and courteous manner. Ensure merchandise is neatly displayed. Assist with marking and pricing merchandise and directed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sell gift shop merchandise, including pre-packaged food and beverage (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), cashiering accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure merchandise stock levels are appropriately maintained and informs supervisor of any stock level irregularities.
- Accurately operates cash register. Make change and process credit card and room charges in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Assist with merchandise stocking and ticketing. Ensure that merchandise is neatly displayed and in proper area.
- Provide outstanding guest service to all gift shop guests.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the gift shop.
- Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies.
- Document all guest requests, complaints, or problems.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent property data.
- Remain knowledgeable at all times of all property features, services, and hours of operation.
- Assist guests with any questions, concerns, or complaints.
- Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests.
- Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond” as appropriate.
- Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
- Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
- Regular predictable attendance is required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Retail Supervisor
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
LANGUAGE:
Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in customer service and cash handling preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time.
Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.
Fine finger manipulation.
Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Alcohol Awareness Certification required.
