What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at CENTURY 21 Signature Real Estate?
Position: The Senior Accountant will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable the Accounting Team
- Prepare financial reporting
- Manage company budgets including office level, department level, and organization level
- Provide advice for future tax implications & strategic planning
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for reporting
- Work closely with the company’s HR Department to manage staff payroll & benefits and oversee compliance requirements
- Oversee agent commission processing
- Oversee Accounts Payable
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems
- Do reconciliations of balance sheet, income statements, G/L and bank accounts to ensure timely closing of monthly financial statements
- Oversee the company’s internal Agent Financial Services (AFS) bookkeeping program
- Oversee compliance of the company’s 501(c)(3)
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Public Accounting experience required
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 5-10 years of professional experience
- Strong leadership/management skills required
- Software knowledge of relevant accounting software highly preferred
- Experience with Google Workspace preferable
This position is full-time 40 hours, Monday through Friday. Full benefits are offered including paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, and a company-sponsored 401K plan. The right candidate must be located in or near Ankeny, Iowa, working from the Ankeny location.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
