Job Title: Multifamily Assistant Superintendent
Reports To: Superintendent / Senior Superintendent
Job Summary:
The Multifamily Assistant Superintendent assists in managing all field operations for multifamily construction projects. This position coordinates subcontractors, monitors project progress, enforces safety standards, conducts quality inspections, and helps ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Superintendent in supervising daily construction activities.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Monitor project schedules and help maintain production milestones.
- Perform daily jobsite inspections to ensure quality workmanship.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
- Assist with project documentation, including daily reports, site logs, and progress photos.
- Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions and third-party inspectors.
- Verify material deliveries and ensure proper storage and inventory.
- Conduct punch list inspections and assist with project closeout.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure jobsite.
- Communicate project updates to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Assist with owner walkthroughs and turnover activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of multifamily or commercial construction experience.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of building codes and OSHA safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction management software is preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
