The Role
This is a hands-on operational leadership role overseeing healthcare delivery within a structured, high-demand correctional environment.
Wilcox State Prison is a medium-security facility with a steady and diverse population, requiring consistent coordination of medical, dental, and behavioral health services to support ongoing patient care and institutional stability. The HSA is responsible for maintaining efficient operations, ensuring continuity of care, and supporting clinical teams in a fast-paced but controlled setting.
You will lead daily operations across medical, dental, and behavioral health services while managing the demands of:
- Consistent patient population with ongoing chronic care needs
- Routine medical and mental health evaluations and treatment plans
- Diverse patient acuity levels requiring coordinated care approaches
- Collaboration between clinical teams and custody staff to ensure safe, effective service delivery

Qualifications:Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing healthcare operations in a structured, high-volume correctional setting
- Ensuring timely completion of routine screenings, assessments, and care plans
- Managing staffing, scheduling, and workforce performance to maintain operational consistency
- Driving compliance with GDC, NCCHC, and internal audit standards
- Partnering directly with the Warden’s office, GDC Health Services, and Centurion leadership to address operational needs and improve outcomes
- Maintaining continuity of care for a stable population with long-term healthcare needs
- Collaborating closely with regional leadership and providing consistent, proactive updates on operational performance, risks, and ongoing issues
- Escalating concerns appropriately and maintaining transparency to support timely decision-making at the regional level
