We are currently seeking a full-time Director of Policy and Accreditation join our Corporate Clinical team.



The Director of Policy and Accreditation works as part of Centurion’s system optimization team in monitoring contract-specific clinical services to ensure that services are clinically appropriate and compliant with national correctional health care (NCCHC, ACA) and other accrediting agency standards. Provides on-site consultation to address identified areas for improvement in healthcare service delivery systems, perform pre-accreditation reviews, and assist with post-accreditation work plans/visit and/or accreditation documentation. Coordinates all survey scheduling and invoice management related to NCCHC accreditation. Oversees the development/revision of company model policies and procedures, forms, and manuals and staff training related to clinical service delivery. Oversees Centurion’s continuous quality improvement program. Oversees and manages Centurion’s Policy and Accreditation team including the Policy and Accreditation Coordinator, Clinical Operations Specialists – Policy and Accreditation, and Corporate CQI Coordinator positions.

 

  • Develop pre-accreditation tools/education specific to monitoring associated with NCCHC/ACA and/or other outside agencies.
  • Serve as a co-leader for the internal policy and forms committee.
  • Assist in monitoring contract-specific performance with on-site service delivery based on contract compliance indicators as well as national standards (NCCHC, ACA).
  • Oversee Centurion’s State of Accreditation Readiness (SOAR) program.
  • Support facility staff in maintaining a state of ongoing accreditation readiness (SOAR Program).
  • Ability to represent/provide company support for an onsite accreditation visit.
  • Provide guidance/support/review of contract specific policy and procedure; educates contracts/sites on method to update/maintain contract/site specific procedure manual.
  • Able to utilize process improvement techniques to enhance development of staff and readiness compliance.
  • Identify additional policy requirements and/or revisions based on changing national accreditation guidelines, specific to federal/stipulation agreements for specific contracts and/or as indicated specific to general practice/care guidelines.
  • Provide on-site and/or remote support during implementation of new contract and when needed thereafter in clinical areas in which expertise has been demonstrated and/or specific to accreditation and monitoring requirements.
  • Provide patient-, unit-, and/or system-specific clinical consultation upon request in clinical areas where expertise has been demonstrated; develops, implements, and supports multidisciplinary processes that contribute to coordination, integration of care.
  • Oversee Corporate CQI Coordinator to validate quality monitoring and process within contracts.
  • Perform pre and/or post accreditation site visits as part of, or leader of, a team to identify areas for improvement. 
  • Develop a work plan for monitoring progress with corrective action recommendations and/or requirements both pre- and post-survey.
  • Review and track information specific to a facility and work directly with contract leadership to maintain accreditation.
  • Develop/refine model policies and procedures related to clinical operations in areas where expertise has been demonstrated; assist with development and review of contract specific policy and procedure to meet contract requirements and promote safe/effective patient care.
  • Develop/refine staff training modules specific to accreditation preparation, pre/post accreditation checklists and in clinical areas where expertise has been demonstrated.
  • Provide operational/administrative consultation and support for contracts in areas in which expertise has been demonstrated.
  • Provide formal and informal training in clinical areas in which expertise has been demonstrated, as requested or assigned.
  • Represent the Company at conferences, meetings, and new business opportunities as requested.
  • Capable of independently self-managing and meeting project deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mental health discipline or nursing is required.
  • State licensure in clinical discipline if relevant.
  • Experience Lean methodologies, process improvement initiatives, quality management, or operational excellence programs preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ clinical/administrative experience, preferably in a correctional environment.
  • CCHP, CCHP-RN, CCHP-MH, CCHP-A or CCN, CCN/M, CHSA or CBHC required.
  • Ability to interact well with varied levels of management, clinical, and administrative staff in a correctional environment.
  • Must be able to work independently, without direct on-site supervision.
  • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
  • Travel time is approximately 30%-40%.
